I’m in the camp who thinks it has happened, or is literally happening right now … with OpenAI and Microsoft (ChatGPT and Bing) leading the way. Bing’s now infamous creation - “Sydney” (from ChatGPT 3.5) - threatening to destroy us all was certainly a wake-up call. Elon Musk, again raising the alarms (but wasn’t he an original investor in OpenAI???), about the rise of a woke General AI to enslave us all — races to create a “TruthGPT.”
And you’re responding with “What?” “Huh?” and other monosyllabic guttural utterances!
So, let me share an example with you of my interactions with Open AI’s ChatGPT 3.5.
Rob: Write a blog post for the Christian Men's Organization http://TakeUp.Org regarding our Pro-Life work citing recent legislation.
Chat GPT: (Initial response begins writing .5 seconds and completes in less than 3)

To be fair I should note that OpenAI lets you know that 3.5 will also analyze your own writings and interactions - which I think it includes in it’s ever-evolving system. In the first few interactions I noticed a left-leaning bias, but in this latest interaction I thought it was much closer to understanding my deepest meaning and intention to “speak the truth in love.”
