Rob Hurlburt
Media & Ministry Bio
Spanning over three decades, Rob Hurlburt has worked in almost every imaginable field of media creation, as a Director/Producer of numerous video productions, TV ads, short documentaries, and also as a Media Lab Director for the Christian Ad Agency Sovrenti and the Joint Venture Media Lab for Hearst Publications and Belo Broadcasting. His most recent venture, Justice Media Lab Inc. (JML), designs and develops forensic 3D reenactments for Trial in wrongful death cases. JML is in "stealth mode" having completed Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Demos. JML has been his "tentmaking" company since 2014 allowing him to give much of his time to Christian Ministry, primarily in Pro-Life and Pro-Family Campaigns and through the work of TakeUp.Org.
As a licensed and ordained Christian (Southern Baptist) Pastor, his passion is to use his media creation skills and background to Spread the Gospel and Advance the Kingdom of God.

In his personal life, Rob's great love is for his son Jordan, daughter-in-law Maddy and grandson Parker! His other love is for the residents of Tacara Steiner Ranch where he teaches an early Sunday morning Bible Study. He is a member of Lakeview Bible Church and co-leads one of the Men's Ministry table groups.

CEO
Justice Media Lab (JML) Inc., a legal media services and technology company, pioneered the use of Physics-Based 4D (3D Space in Time) demonstrative creations for courtroom and settlement purposes. JML also has an advocacy/legislative/pr team that works on issues of national safety. JML is the successor to Digital Courtroom (1993-1996) -- an innovator in developing digital visual databases and first introducing interactive exhibits in Texas courts in a number of significant cases. JML’s proprietary software - “Virtual Courtroom” - has been used in 28 cases that have had jury victories awarding more than $377M.

For nearly a decade Sovrenti was an independent Christian New Media Agency in the US - designing, creating and implementing diverse media services to hundreds of church and Christian non-profit organizations across the country. Sovrenti also developed political and cultural issue campaigns that were directed to the CHURCH. From software development to public relations strategies, Sovrenti became known for its multi-faceted campaigns. Sovrenti was awarded the “Best Capital Campaign - Creative/Strategic Design — in 2005” by RSI on behalf of Grace Covenant Church, Austin.

Hurlburt was selected to head the New Media Laboratory and Web Development Company created in a joint partnership between Hearst Publications and Belo Broadcasting. Created the largest regional internet news sites in Texas, mySA.com (San Antonio Express News and KENS 5) DallasNews.com and much of the technology for chron.com (Houston Chronicle). Created the Virtual Tour of the Riverwalk for San Antonio Tourism.

Digital Arts Inc. (DAi) - CEO
Founded DAi in 1993 to produce state-of-the-art interactive media presentations for legal, corporate and entertainment markets. Grew from 1 employee and $50,000 in revenues in 1993 to over 15 employees and $1.95 million in revenues in 1996. DAI led national campaigns for IBM, Compaq, Dell and many other technology companies. Produced the Quicktime Virtual Reality CD for the State of Texas Tourism “Texas -- It’s a Whole Other Country” campaign. Created the subsidiary company “Digital Courtroom” to develop interactive visual database tools, information on demand systems, and other custom demonstrative aids.

While attending Seminary, Hurlburt was the full time Pastor for Students (Middle School through College). Program grew from approximately 15 students attending weekly in 1991, to over 250 in 1993. In addition, had church-wide responsibilities for fundraising and media production.

Re-election Campaign for Texas Land Commissioner Garry Mauro, Finance Chairman
Directed all fundraising initiatives totaling $1.2 million dollars. Produced media related materials for campaign, including brochures, videos, commercials, etc.

Director of Marketing, 1989-1990. Oversaw all aspects of media, marketing and communications. At 26, became the youngest director in the agency, managing computer graphics, publishing, radio and television production, and media relations.
