"The Last Mission at Takara" - Summer Bible Study 2026

Resuming on June 14 (Lord Willing) - The Mission at Takara Bible Study is back for another summer! We'll be using a new curriculum from Rob Hurlburt - "John the Baptist - The Greatest! The Least?" - which is an eleven week series based on one verse - Matthew 11:11 (ESV):

"Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he."

We'll also have a special evening event in August for the residents of Tacara -- An End of Summer "Friendsgiving!"

This is called "The Last Mission at Takara" because Rob will be leaving Tacara after 9 years to take a break and move back to DFW for several months to reconnect with friends and family. He has several goals for this last outreach under his leadership:

1. To convince more of Lakeview's members and leadership that the 500+ residents at Tacara are uniquely special to Lakeview because they are LITERALLY next-door neighbors! Just look at the photograph from a drone at night.

2. To build and establish a leadership group who can insure that this isn't in fact "the last mission" but rather the beginning of a long-term relationship with the Christians at Tacara and Lakeview Bible Church.

3. Have the Bible Study group host an evening outreach for the residents at Tacara - similar to last year's Friendsgiving.

4. Lead a great Bible Study for the residents at Tacara and for the Lakeview Bible Church members who serve with us!

5. Lead people to Christ!
